# LDAPS

To make LDAP traffic secure, you can use SSL/TLS technology (SSL = Secure Sockets Layer, TLS = Transport Layer Security).

Information

The connection between the ELO Access Manager and the LDAP server is not encrypted. This means that all user passwords are transmitted without encryption. SSL certificates eliminate this potential security risk (sniffer software).

For more information on configuring LDAPS, refer to the documentation ELO server - Installation and operation > Installation > Advanced > Configure LDAPS (opens new window).
