# Exchange - data overview

In this chapter, you'll learn what data from Exchange Online can be transferred using ELO Sync.

# Items

The following items can be synchronized from Exchange Online:

E-mails: e-mails are always synchronized in .eml format; the .msg format from Outlook is not supported.
E-mail folders
E-mail attachments: Currently, only file attachments called fileAttachment can be synchronized. Other types of attachments, such as itemAttachment or referenceAttachment, are not currently supported.

No manual configuration is required for the metadata; instead, ELO's standard metadata templates are linked to the corresponding Exchange metadata.
